Splurge vs Steal: Eco-Friendly Fall Footwear-The Wedge Bootie

Stepping into fall is quite literally all about having the right footwear. This season, a wedge bootie is just the ticket to update your look, while still offering comfort and stability to navigating snow dusted streets. In this week’s Splurge vs Steal post, we take a look at two footwear lines that will keep you on your toes!
Cri de Coeur: Gina Ferraraccio and Julie Dicterow founded Cri de Coeur in 2008 with the intention of creating a stylish footwear brand that adhered to an ethical mantra. The line is now produced entirely sustainably, made from top quality vegan materials that include ultra-suede, organic cotton and reclaimed wood. Moreover, their manufacturing practices are eco-friendly and cruelty-free, with high consideration paid to the fair treatment of their workers.
With all these attributes, cri de coeur has managed to become a go-to brand for green fashionistas. Sexy thigh-high boots, edgy wedges and chic motorcycles make up their collection, with shoes that work from day to night.
Shoes range from $75 to $300.
Cocolico: Cocolico shoes are a dream to wear, so it’s a large perk that they are also environmentally and ethical conscious. Based out of the Spanish island of Mallorca, the footwear draws inspiration from its surroundings whist using material sourced as locally as possible. They also use a special vegetable tanning process on their leathers, resulting in a unique ageing look that stays true to eco-friendly production methods.
The Cocolico collection emphasizes the elegant day bootie, but also features knee-highs and flats. These shoes are classically beautiful and perfect for going into the fall. Wear them with leggings and a chunky sweater to show off their simple chic-ness.
Shoes range from $400 to $600.
