ECO OUTFIT: WYOMING WOMAN

December 1, 2015

Growing up in Jackson Hole, my first job was working in a store on the town square called Wyoming Wear. We sold lots of polar fleece jackets, pants and even socks! Back then it was all about function- mainly staying warm in the sometimes harsh winters. Today, guarding against -14 is still a priority, but there are a few more fashionable items to bring form and function together. This fall was surprisingly warm and on one of the last snow-free days I layered two dresses, one jacket, knee socks and a pair of boots to express my Wyoming Woman style. It has been wonderful to play with the heritage style of this beautiful state, and to infuse some modern pieces coming from favorite designers in LA and New York to bring into focus my past and present selfs.

ECO OUTFIT: HOME ON THE RANGE

November 19, 2015

Even though I've lived in London, New York and LA, it always feels so good to come home to Jackson Hole, my hometown, and let my Wyoming Woman spirit roam.

Cities are fantastic places, but small towns don't get enough credit. The people in a small town are so genuine, and interconnected. They say what they mean, and mean what they say, and I value that. The energy, the ambition and the good intentions translate well in a small town. It's been so wonderful being back in this mountain town, connecting with new people and friends from my past. There is so much talent here.

So when I began pulling pieces from the new Chinti & Parker collections for an upcoming shoot, I decided I wanted to shoot in my 'backyard' and infuse some of my Wyoming roots into the looks. I reached out to photographer Lindsay Linton and found in her an amazing collaborator to help bring the vision to life. I hope you enjoy the posts over the next couple of weeks. They are a wonderful look into my life in Wyoming which reflect the fashion sense (and brands) I've brought back with me along side local brand Aion, and some draw-dropping scenery in this place that I call home.

ECO OUTFIT: BEST IN SHOW

November 11, 2015

I'm spending the fall in London and just settled into my new neighborhood- Marylebone. I've always loved Marylebone, and what I didn't know is that they made a conscious effort to bring in and nurture independent boutiques... like this amazing ribbon store. Housing every kind of ribbon you could want on the inside, and an eye-catching display of prize ribbons on the outside, this little store felt like the perfect backdrop for my more neutral Sunday outfit. If you are in Marylebone any time soon, be sure to stop by Pantry 108for their fresh juices. The London Greens is my favorite.

ECO EDITORIAL: A GREEN BEAUTY MAGAZINE

October 26, 2015

For those who are actively engaged in the eco beauty and fashion scene, you will recall the emergence of A Green Beauty... first as a blog, then an online e-zine. But now, we have the luxury of thumbing through the recycled pages of A Green Beauty the print magazine (available online and at your local Whole Foods). Amazing! As an author with a book out there, something shifted inside me, and instead of devouring everything in a digital medium, I found a new respect and love for print. I was beyond thrilled when the Editor in Chief of A Green Beauty, Mara Schiavetti, asked me to pose for a feature in her first print edition.

As you can tell, I am a fan! And, I am a HUGE fan of this publication existing in print- where I can collect each edition and stack them in my archives for future reference (like Nat Geo for eco fashion!).

For the full feature on Wear No Evil in this edition of A Green Beauty  or order a print copy online.

ECO OUTFIT: BLACK ON BLACK ON BLACK (WITH A SIDE OR PURPLE)

October 6, 2015

No matter how hard I try, I always seem to end up with quite a lot of black in my wardrobe. Maybe it is the after effects of having lived in NYC for over five years, or just what comes with the territory when you have to live out of a suitcase for more than three weeks... Either way, I stumble upon completely black ensembles and feel pretty darn good in them! Luckily, a new wardrobe investment in the form of shoes from Tokyo provided a hint of color of the purple/ maroon variety.
